The CPMR’s Atlantic Arc Commission Transport Working Group met on 11 April 2013 in the Offices of the Basque Delegation to the EU in Brussels to campaign for a proper Atlantic corridor as part of funding for the Trans-European Transport Network through the new Connecting Europe Facility. CAAC was represented by CAAC Coordinator, Ms. Tamara Guirao, who intervened to insist in the three dimensions of transport in the Atlantic Arc: accessibility, contactability and urban mobility.

The Basque Government, which coordinates the working group within the AAC, also undertook to petition the Spanish Minister for Development to include Atlantic hubs and their development plans in both the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T) and in the priorities of the Multi-Annual Financial Framework for 2014-2020, which is currently the focus of discussion and negotiation between the European Parliament and the Council.
