The second day of the Atlantic Forum in Cork was addressed to the presentation of the Atlantic Action Plan and to give some hints on its future implementation. After the opening session, Mr. Mathew King, of DG MARE, explained how this was being drafted.
In the following session, the stakeholders took the floor to defend an Atlantic Strategy which is owned by the territories and whose actions influence the policies of the Atlantic Area. On behalf of the Atlantic Cities, Mr. Marc Labbey expressed the urgent need to include citizens and cities in the Atlantic Strategy.
The following sessions discussed the international dimension of the Atlantic Strategy, how to fund the Action Plan and the responses to it from the different EU institutions.
